The previous wall was built in a poor state and some time ago. This wall needed to be taken down and rebuilt for safety purposes. It also allowed for the resident to retain their soil and garden. As we took down the wall, we noticed that the foundations was not deep enough to support the wall. As such, we needed to escavate the old foundations and pour new concrete to form a new solid foundation.
The new wall was constructed with hollow concrete blocks and also reinforced with steel re-bars and concrete. We also put in a soakaway system at the back of the wall stopping water from getting trapped behind it. A brick wall was then built on top of the retaining wall as a barrier for boundary lines. The client was happy with the quality of our work again – as it was the second time we’ve been hired by him.
